Group Therapy for Folks with Chronic Illness

Open to Georgia and Florida residents

You don’t have to be afraid of your body, even when your pain has been stopping you for years from living your life. This group helps alleviate feeling like a burden, social isolation, and overexerting yourself leading to frequent flare-ups.

What You Can Expect

It’s not just venting

Yes, it’s incredibly validating to find people who truly understand the frustrations of trying to live your life (clean the house, socialize, manage appointments, work), but a good group offers more…

Shared Experiences, Diverse Perspectives

You want your group members to feel relatable, but also offer new and insightful perspectives. This group is made up of folks with different experiences, but similar struggles.

Improved Relationships

How relationships form in group therapy is often how relationships form in our everyday lives. Working with others in a group setting can propel change in a way that individual therapy doesn’t. (One is not better than the other, they just offer different opportunities for growth).

Increased Activity

Our pain can be extremely self-limiting. We stop going to stores, seeing friends, going to work, and so much more. This group aims to help you release fear and learn the skills required to get back out into the world (IF that’s your goal). The goals formed in group should be made by your own free will and desires. There’s no “shoulds” in this group!
